Smart’s New Addition – The Electric Fortwo
As we all know the Smart car range is among some of the most economically friendly in the world. And it was indeed used Smart cars from the past that set the tone for the new era of automotive manufacturing in terms of reducing Co2 emissions. For the years that followed the release of the first Smart car – the brand has become extremely popular all over the world as more and more consumers begin switching to cars that are kinder to the environment. To take things one step further though, Smart has now introduced an electric version of the brilliant Fortwo model, which was always no doubt the next chapter for Smart engineers (producing an even friendlier vehicle in electric format). The need for a new and additional power-train is what many of the automotive manufacturers are now aspiring to achieve and Smart has shown their hand with the electric Fortwo. Whilst there have naturally been some changes to the vehicles’ power etc, no sacrifices have been made in terms of the overall design of the car and safety levels as well as the driving capabilities have not been altered in any way. So believe it or not there is now a new car in town that has seemingly taken the health of the environment to new extremes and that is the new electric Smart Fortwo. It emits zero Co2 emissions as well as no carbon monoxide or other pollutants; making it one of, if not the, most eco-friendly unit currently available in the industry today.

Smart Fortwo plus electric engine… that just so adds up. Actually I used to think these were electric from the beginning.
