The GranTurismo S Automatic from Maserati

Maserati’s automatic version of the GranTurismo S is a true wonder to behold. What separates this car from its competitors is the array of technologies used and the innovation in engineering that have been undertaken. The first area that the new and used Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic excels in is the cars’ gearbox, which operates using a six speed transmission. The gearbox really displays its engine power benefit during low revs and enables change to be made up to 7,200 rpm; match by no other competitor. With four different functions available that include Auto Normal, Sport, ICE and Manual, drivers really are in total control of the GranTurismo S Automatic. Accompanying the innovation in gearbox design is the cars’ engine, which is of the 8 cylinder, 4691 cc type. With a total output of 440 BHP, this Maserati is one that delivers where others fail. A total of 490 Nm toque at 4,750 revs per minute is produced and with the help of two overhead camshafts and 4 cylinders that are managed by hydraulic tappets, the engine in the Maserati GranTurismo S Automatic is very much an advanced production. As for the cars’ suspension, the vehicle incorporates wishbone suspension (front and rear) and also comes with the “Skyhook” system, which uses shock absorbers to adjust the damping on a regular basis (the system is able to decide what the most effective level of damping is). The final element of innovation in this Maserati car is the chassis, which enables the vehicle to have excellent reactions due to the units’ weight distribution (virtually 50/50 between front and back). So it is clearly evident that it is not only the exterior looks of the GranTurismo S Automatic that stands out. A visually stunning vehicle nonetheless, this Maserati delivers in so many aspects.
